Bogs Rancher Black Boot Reviews

Bogs Rancher great product worth the $$.
I bought these boots for my son as he has daily farm chores in all kinds of weather. They have been so much better than his old rubber boots! they are comfortable and waterproof.I have two other boys and they did not have holes in their boots, (hence they still have wellies!)and now they take the bogs from their brother whenever they can!!! Looks like I will be buying at least two more pairs if not three (one for Dad). If you work outside in all conditions especially farm type stuff... livestock etc these boots are a must!!!!

Bogs Rancher GREAT BOOTS.

My partner had already purchased a different style of Bogs boots so I knew they were solid, warm, and comfortable. I decided to get the Rancher style because they were the most manly I found (short of the camouflage boots) and I need all the help I can get. I'm certainly not disappointed. These boots are incredibly warm and 100% waterproof. The neoprene uppers are tight enough that nothing gets in, but stretchy enough to fit over pants without feeling tight. I know that they are too warm to be much use outside fall or winter, so I'll probably need another pair when it's not so cold, but they are perfect right now. The only problem is that my feet get tired and cramp quickly in them, which is more a problem with my feet than the boots. It's not a huge issue because the inserts that they come with are easily removable and I can stick whatever orthopedic inserts in that I want.

Bogs Rancher Nice, comfortable, sturdy boots.
First pair of boots I've found in my size (18) in about 15 years that not only fit correctly, are comfortable to wear, sturdy, and while they fit well and stay on great, they are also easy to pull on and off. I was afraid pull-on boots may give me difficulty getting on and off, but not these, very nice boots.

Bogs Rancher Boots Very Good at Most Things: Not for the Woods.
I used these boots for 5 weeks in Northern NH doing fieldwork in wetlands, mainly bogs as a matter of fact, 60 hours/wk. I ripped them up pretty good. The neoprene upper is far superior to a full-rubber upper in many respects; it's more flexible (i.e. comfortable), warm on cold days but not too hot in the summer, and condensation will not build up because while waterproof, it can absorb moisture.

The downside I found during my fieldwork in swampy lands is that if the upper gets snagged on a twig or scrapes against a rock, it will often tear and no longer be waterproof. It's pretty fragile in that respect. I have 4 holes in mine, one of which a significant amount of water can get through. I don't blame this on the boot; I now know I picked the wrong application for the product.

Everything else the reviewers say is true. EXTREMELY comfortable for a boot. No-smell antimicrobial footbed really does seem to hold back smells considering how much I sweated in these. I was comfortable in temperatures up to 75F in the woods. I have a 2E wide foot, and these were plenty wide. They run wide and maybe just a tad short on length (I can wear a 13 in many brands, but the 14 was best for BOGS). Highly recommended for farm work, field work, not so much.

The other downside I found is that in the typical grip v. wear tradeoff, these boots' rubber tread have good grip but wear pretty quickly. Made in China but quality is of construction is good, you get what you pay for. Also surprisingly easy to get on and off, yet will not get sucked off your foot in deep mud.

Bogs Rancher Boots These are the toughest, lightest, most comfortable boots I have ever owned.
I don't know where to start with these boots. I live in Montana, and wanted a boot like a Muck boot, but for less money. I went to a store downtown and tried a bunch of boots on, and thought that these boots seemed a bit clunky, and didn't try them on until after maybe 6 pairs. Before I put them on, I could not believe how light they were.

I wear a size ten boot normally, and these were true to size in my opinion. I also have wider feet. I immediately was taken aback at how comfortable they were. These are more comfortable than any boot I have ever tried on. The sole is ridiculously comfortable. I would highly suggest trying these on before you buy them, as with all boots, but you should just go experience the comfort of these boots.

So I really liked them, bought them for $99, and tried them on. I then used these boots for work, outside, in winter weather in Montana. They were awesome. I cannot honestly think of a moment when my feet got cold one time. So I started using them for everyday normal use afterwards. I now wear them between the months of November-May sometimes June, for anything which requires being outside in the mountains, or work. They really are awesome boots. There is no better boot for Montana. The traction these boots have is also amazing. On ice they do ok though, so always use something like a Yaktrax type product. On rocks, or pavement/cement, it's almost as if they stick to the rock.

When things get insanely cold (-40) I will double up my merino wool socks, and wear these bad boys, and I am never cold. They are waterproof up to a few inches below the knee, which make these great for stream crossings.

So now, after owning these for a year in November, I have worn the rubber down to hardly any tread, and after testing them out in a shallow lake, I found a few miniscule leaks. I have also worn out the heel area down to the rubber, which now gives me a blister. I honestly find this incredible, as I usually wear out my boots in 3-6 months, no matter how expensive they are.

So I called Bogs, and asked how to fix them, and they told me they would send me a new pair of the Rancher, if I send them pictures, showing the wear. That is awesome. I used to pay $250 for hunting boots every year, and these are so much more comfortable, lighter, and tougher (although not indestructible). The only reason they wore out is because I used them many times while hiking in scree. Scree is a boot killer, and these Bogs fared better than other boots I have had.

I will say one thing: They have no ankle support if you hunt or hike in them. I don't ever feel like I need the ankle support anyway.

Another warning: They will get sweaty if you don't have a wicking knee-high sock, like poly-pro, or merino wool. In warmer weather, you will notice sweat rings just below your knee if you have cotton pants. But just as with everything, there is a proper way to use these boots.

I highly recommend these boots if you need something waterproof, warm, comfortable, and tough.

Update: Bogs did indeed send me replacement boots, with no charge. Free shipping. Not only that, but the boots this year seem more rugged (or maybe I just haven't broken them in yet). The heel area is definitely beefier, like they added a denser type of rubber. Feels very solid. The inside area around the ankle, to the middle arch area, is encased in this type of rubber. They feel tighter, but a slightly bit clunkier. I have some pretty awesome pictures of the wear down of the old boot, next to the new shiny boot. I'll post them somewhere on the internet, or on this review if I can figure it out.

Another thing to note which I noticed is different. The insole these new boots come with is different. Either that or a salesman put the old insole in my old boot to sell it quicker. The old insoles are made of a material that feels like a gym mat if you step on them. Amazingly comfortable. I don't know why all insoles aren't made of this stuff. Anyway, I pulled it out and it says that it is a Peak brand, but the only Peak brand insoles I can find on Amazon look like garbage. The new boots came with Bogs brand insoles, and these were not that comfy. I replaced them with my old ones, as they still have their shape and softness. The Bogs brand insoles are really stiff.

I also think it's important to mention that I wear my pant legs over the boot, while a lot of people tuck them into the boot. I think it just looks better to have the pant leg on the outside, but it also keeps out debris. When I have worn them on the inside, they just collect debris like pine needles, burrs, insects, or dirt. So with that said, the new boots have a bit of a looser fit on the calf area. I guess that is geared towards people who tuck their pant legs into their boots. If anything, I would like a tighter neoprene sleeve on the calf area to really make these boots feel like an extension of my foot.

If I could recommend three things about the differences I see in the new Bogs, it would be that they offer a softer rubber version like the old ones I have, with more neoprene cushioning. My old Bogs seemed to have softer insides, and were a little looser around the heel, ankle and mid-arch areas. Also: a more comfortable insole. I am pretty sure my insoles were non-standard, as they weren't even cut down to size when I pulled them out to switch boots. And thirdly: a tighter upper sleeve. I still love these boots, but I did like the "stealthier" boots, good for sneaking around the forest, and crazy comfortable. Maybe I just need to break these new ones in... Still a 5 star rating from me, and some of the most comfortable and useful footwear I have ever worn. Very fair price for such a well made boot. It's a shame they can't make these in the US. I would pay around $200-$250 for boots like these, and the guarantee can't be beat. What would it take guys?

Bogs Boots GREAT!!
I bought these boots for my husband that works on a ranch 7 days a week, they are great. Only thing is, I thought I had bought them at a great price, I found out I could have purchased them for 30.00 cheaper at a local store in Stephenville.

My husband loves them, he says they are very warm, but once it starts getting warm outside, he has to take them off because it feels like his feet are cooking in the heat!! Ha ha

Bogs Boots For Men Best Ever.
Got out of high school in 1960. Worked on a dairy farm, wore rubber boots,
now I'm 69 and working on a dairy farm and still wearing rubber boots. Have
wide feet, got blisters and rubbed side of little toe raw. Tried muck's, took
them back after 2 week's. Temperature has been down to 16 here in Arkansas
in December. Feet stayed warm. They are light, soft and no problem with
the width, sore has healed. Wish I had found out about them 50 year's ago.
Got a great price from Amazon and the review's helped me to decide to get them. Will use Amazon again for future purchases. Great service !!

Bogs Classic High Boot For Men Reviews

Bogs Classic High Works Well.
I use for kayaking; works really well in cold weather. I can walk into cold water to launch my kayak without my feet getting cold.

Bogs Classic High love these boots.
It's cold in Canada. We know it, you know it. These boots are my new favorite things to wear to shovel, trudge around the snow-covered yard, walk the dog or even pick up after him. Had to stand in frigid water and the cold only mildly seeped into the boot. But my feet stayed DRY! Bought a pair of the riding-look boots for my wife who always complained of cold feet. Not anymore!

The fit is a bit loose and my heel lifts a bit. I wear padded socks when I know I'm going to be in them for awhile. Thermal socks not necessary but I wear some sometimes when it gets REAL cold.

Did I mention I loved these boots? A must for any home/dog owner.

Bogs Classic High Boot Fantastic!
Been highly satisfied with Bogs for choring on the farm. My father-in-law gave me a pair for Christmas a few years back and we have never gone back to any other boot. Lightweight, warm, and keeps your feet dry. Easy to hose off the muck and I've also thrown a pair in the washing machine and they came out looking like new. We've tried the Muck Boot (comparable item), but they are a heavier boot with a harder plastic down at the foot. Bogs are super flexible and I have even jogged in them a time or two when it has been super wet out.

Bogs Classic High Boot GREAT!
These are the best boots I have ever bought. We have had a very wet season
this year and they have performed very well. No leaks and very warm.

Bogs Boots You get what you pay for.
I've owned my most recent pair of Bogs for three years; I wear them 2 to 3 times per week. These are the best boots I've ever had for wet environments. They are warm, comfortable, and easy to wear all day-- I am shopping for a new pair because mine are just now starting to leak at the point where the upper and rubber lower meet-- I expected them to wear out a long time ago. There's no doubt that I'll buy Bogs whenever buying waterproof boots for myself or as a gift. The only question I'm asking myself now is whether to get the Classics or the Ranchers. If you need a pair of waterproof, warm, and tough boots, you can't go wrong with this brand.

Bogs Boots Low tide warriors.
I use these at low tide on the mud flats near my house. They are extremely durable against the forces of rocks, shells and barnacles and numerous sharp and potentially dangerous pieces of marine trash (crushed rusty wire lobster pots). The soles are great for traction on hard and soft surfaces. They keep you feet really warm, even while under some pretty cold water [think New England Atlantic].

The best part for me is the cuff around the top make a nice seal around my calf. I can actully submerge the whole boot with evry little leakage into the boot because of the seal. This is what sets these boots apart from Wellies.

Bogs Boots Love them.
Love these boots - they are warm, waterproof and light. Half sizes would be nice if they came in half sizes.

Bogs Boots For Men VERY HAPPY.
These boots are great warm and waterproof are great qualities in a boot. The only thing to be aware off is they run very small so order up in size if you do that you will be very happy.

Bogs Boots For Men Super light, super warm, small size.
These boots are so warm and comfy! I tried on my size and my toes touched. Since they don't offer half sizes, I had to order a full size larger than anything I've ever worn. They are a bit loose, but still so dang comfy! I wore them all day outside today, clearing snow and doing car repairs in the driveway. I wore regular"business"socks and could not have been more comfortable.

Oh, and I tried on the Rancher model and they run larger! Don't let anyone tell you these boots run true to size... You need to either try them on or buy them from a vendor that let's you return them if they don't fit.

Bogs Boots For Men Great warm boots.
Got these based on others reviews for my husband to wear trudging through cold puget sound waters. Very comfortable, warm and dry. Perfect. He loves them.

Bogs Boots For Men AWESOME!!
These boots are awesome! My husband and I each bought a pair for our trip to Antarctica. We used them the entire time we were in Antarctica - climbing snow-covered hills, walking across ice and snow, stepping into the cold Antarctica ocean, walking across gravel beaches, etc. Not once did our feet get cold or uncomfortable. I highly recommend these boots for any time you want to keep your feet warm and dry.

Bogs Classic High Skulls Rain Boot Reviews

Bogs Skulls Perfect!
Great for Wisconsin fall, winter and spring! These boots are warm and water proof!
Bogs are such a smart choice instead of buying water boots and winter boots. Perfect and cool looking boots. All 3 of my boys now have Bogs!

Bogs Skulls AWESOME!
Great boots for kids - easy and warm. He loves the design and comfort. My son wears custom inserts, and I can actually get them into this boot - hooray!

Bogs Classic High Skulls GREAT!
I love Bogs boots for kids they keep their feet warm and dry ...which eliminates having more than one pair boots out during the winter months.

Bogs Classic High Skulls Rain Boot So amazing comfy and quality.
Bought these online so I could get a great price and quality. Love them. My son gets compliments everywhere we go. They are amazingly comfy and when they get dirty... I throw them right in the washing machine then dry them by the heat vent. They are so comfy I bought a pair for my self. Really you can't go wrong with bogs. They are easy to get in and off and there is nothing to break on them.

Bogs Rain Boots great boot for the price.
My husband and I decided we needed to invest in a really good quality snow boot for our 2yr old son, one that would keep his feet warm and dry since he's so active. He actually LOVES these boots and requests to wear them. They fit great, and as far as I can tell, the size is right on the money. We originally purchased them a size larger based on the review(s) and since he is still a growing little guy, but when we got the size 8 it was way too large. We sent them back and bought the 7 which was perfect (he was in between sizes at the time, between a 6 and 7). They fit great, stay on while doing the job and then some. They are completely worth the money and have debated buying a pair for myself but thankfully we've had a mild winter. When it comes to needing boots next year for the family, I guarantee we will buy Bogs again.

Bogs Rain Boots For Kids GREAT!!
Received on time. Boots are good quality, great for rain, beach, muddy waters for my eight year old son. Design is really fun.

Bogs Rain Boots For Kids very comfortable.
I recieved the boots in what seemed like record time. They are very comfortable and keep my feet warm and dry. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a cool boot at a great price.

Bogs Rain Boots
These are great boots. They keep my son's feet dry and warm. The shipping took a while, but other than that I would highly recommend them. Thanks!

Bogs Classic Mid Jardin Rain Boot Reviews

Bogs Jardin Love beautiful rainboots; wish there were 1/2 sizes.
Sadly, having to choose between a 1/2 size too small or too large is unfortunate. I wear size 7 1/2 (38 EU), but I selected the 8 (39). Of course they are too big, so I will wear them with thick wool socks when the weather is cold enough.

Bogs Jardin Best Boot Ever.
I have purchased 2 other "bargain boots" & they both sprung a leak within months. The Bogs are not only waterproof(they are made so well), but they're warm too. They'll be a 4 seasons boot for me! I wear a size 6 1/2 & ordered a 7-I've been wearing them with socks & they feel great for the walks in the park with my dog.

Bogs Classic Mid Jardin fit so well.
I love my Boggs rubber boots. They are really comfortable and warm. I have never had a pair of rubber boots fit so well.

Bogs Classic Mid Jardin Rain Boot Sweet Alternative.
Out the box these appeared extremely wide. They look more like gardening boots than rain boots. I was pleased after trying them on. FYI: The handles are functional to pull them on. A nice and unusual alternative from my tall rain boots. To my surprise these kept my toes warm during New York City snowfall. And the floral pattern adds to the charm. They are comfortable. As a 8.5 I ordered the size 9 in Black/Olive combo. Although these felt a half size small, they worked for me.

Bogs Rain Boots
I bought these Bogs boots for winter wear in a wet forest near home. I used to have another pair of Bogs which began to leak after about three years of wear. I liked the soles better on my old shoes, and the earlier pair fit my somewhat narrow heels much better. These shoes are quite wide so I have added a second pair of insoles to try and take up some of that extra space. I hope in the future Bogs will make a more narrow women's shoe. Still these seemed worth keeping rather than the expense of returning them and making the guess at a better fit.

Bogs Rain Boots Very Happy.
I love these boots; I have had bought so many boots that don't work but from the first time I placed my bare feet into these it has been the best. I really can't think of one complaint I have. These Bogs are comfortable and keep my feet dry and warm. I ordered half size larger and that was the right thing to do for me. Love them.

Bogs Rain Boots For Women Love them.

LOVE these cute boots! I usually wear an 8-8.5, but ordered these in size 9. They fit perfectly with a nice fluffy pair of wool socks. I tested them out and they did not leak (THANK YOU). I purchased another companies boot first and they leaked at the toes right out of the box. These keep my feet warm too. I will have to walk quite a distance in them and though I've only walked in the neighborhood, they were very comfortable and did not hurt my feet. Thank you amazon.com for the fast delivery service. Arrived on time and in perfect shape.

Bogs Classic High Tuscany Rain Boot Reviews

Bogs Tuscany
I really like these boots. At first I was put off by how hard they are to take off, but they are really good quality and I am looking forward to wearing them all winter. The only complaint I have is that the boot rubs the back of my leg where the rubber and fabric meet up on the back of the boot. I just wear extra long socks and wear a bandaid, because these boots are super comfortable, warm and water resistant. I think these boots are a good mix of cute boot and practical footwear. I am looking forward to this Michigan winter when my feet wont be cold and wet.

Bogs Tuscany Great Boot.
Great boots, very warm, super comfortable only drawback is they do leave black marks even though they say non marking.

Bogs Classic High Tuscany AWESOME!!
These boots are awesome. Warm, cozy, perfect size 8, stylish, waterproof. I am so impressed. I had them on my wishlist and received them as a gift. I would have spent the $80 on them for sure. Seriously you won't regret it. They fit so well they need special handling and a deep breath to take off. SOooooooo worth it!

Bogs Classic High Tuscany best all weather boots!
My teenage girls love the versatility of these all weather boots. They are great in snow, rain and sometimes even if its just cloudy!

Bogs Classic High Tuscany Rain Boot Wonder Boots.
These boots are beautiful, fun fashion, practical and a very comfortable fit. They are suitable for all weather and so easy to pull on.

Bogs Classic High Love them.
I have wanted these boots for 2 years and thrilled to finally own them. They are easy to get on/off & keep my feet warm & dry. They are meant to fit a bit sloppy like a rain boot. Sizes are true to size....order & enjoy!

Bogs Rain Boots Best Winter Boots-By Far!!
I bought these boots as a gift for my sister and she hasn't stopped raving about them, since Christmas. She said they are the warmest, driest boots she has ever had. She shoveled snow all afternoon and her feet were warm, dry and toasty. I can't wait to get some for myself.

Bogs Rain Boots Awesome winter boots.
These boots are great they keep your feet very warm and dry while still being fashionable. They are also very comfortable and durable. Be sure to wear socks or they are almost imposible to take off.

Bogs Rain Boots Cute Warm & Wonderful!
These Bogs are amazingly warm & super cute! I love wearing them all winter long because the are not only super cute but comfortable. I get all kinds of compliments on these boots everytime I wear them.

Bogs Rain Boots In Love!
These boots are wonderful and very unique for a water proof boot. There are warm, comfortable and fit great. These were very true to size for me, I am a size 6 which is what I ordered and they fit perfectly. They take a few days breaking in, but that's not too bad. I also really like the height, these hit me about 4 inches below the knee. They are also super easy to pull on and off. Would recommend to anyone!

Bogs Classic Mid Ambrosia Boot Reviews

Bogs Ambrosia Great Boot.
This is the best garden work boot I have found. Ordering my normal size, it fits snug with socks and orthotics, so your foot doesn't slide around. Very comfortable to wear all day. Good and solid sole area so you can use a shovel without feeling it in the bottom of your foot. They are tall enough to tuck your pants into when you are in a bog or stream. Pulling them on is easy with the "handles". My only complaint is that they are hard to take off; since the sole and upper boot are all one molded piece there is no "sole rim" to catch, to help push off the boot. So if your boots are muddy, your hands will get muddy when you take them off.

Bogs Ambrosia Oh No! I have to keep these too!
I ordered these muck boots as a replacement to Bogs Taylor Rainboots I returned because they were just kind of silly and stiff and too big and narrow at the same time. AND I ordered Bogs Women's Charlot Garden Chukka,Blue (see [...]).
They both fit great, easy to pull on and off. I have issues with foot pain (plantar fasciitis to be exact) and I figured I would have to insert some instep support but the interior of both boots are very nicely done.
Can't wait to get back to gardening.

Bogs Classic Mid Ambrosia  Great garden boots.
I purchased these Bogs hoping they had more room for my toes and were not tight on my arch. I had purchased a different boot first and it was narrow and tight - not a good thing for my feet when working in the garden for several hours! In addition, the footbed is very comfortable and the pull-on feature is great. I really like them and will be wearing them a lot until the hot weather. Next purchase will be summer garden boots!

Bogs Classic Mid Ambrosia Love them.
These are definitley "must-have" boots! Comfortable enough to wear all day and fashionable, too! I want a pair in EVERY pattern/color!

Bogs Classic Mid Ambrosia Boot Like this boot.
I like this boot. Just got it in the off season in preparation for winter and due to our late winter rains. Not sure yet if they really keep your feet warm. But other reviews say yes. I do like that they are a hard shell on the top as I plan to wear them at the barn (horse) and so a firm upper is best in case one gets stepped on! LOL! I will say though that I had to return and buy a size biger. Normally I'd be an 8 but it was too tight on the top of my foot and I could barely get it off. The 9 actually fits great barefoot and with socks perfect. Go a size bigger than normal!

Bogs Boots
Love this boot!! Really comfortable. Its a bit bulky and at first you think it may be a problem but you dont notice after you have worn them for a while. I ordered a size 9 but Im usually a 8 1/2 because thats what other reviewers suggested and I do think if I went for the 8 it would have been too small. The neoprene lines the whole boot and there is even a contoured foot bed which makes them feel soft and cushy. First time I worn them I took the dog for a 2 hour trail walk and my feet were dry, a bit warm but definatly no soreness.

Bogs Boots For Women AMAZING!
These boots are amazing... the only thing that I would recommend it to buy a size bigger. I think bogs run a little small. I love the fact that its like two boots in one. They can be rain or snow boots :)

Bogs Boots Best Ever.
These are the best gardening boots I have ever owned, they suit the Australian conditions perfectly, the bogs are easy to get on and off,I did buy one size bigger ,Great fit and very comfortable.

Bogs Garden Boots GREAT.
Great agricultural boots!

I requested my first pair of these Bogs for my birthday this year, and I love them. Previously, when I went out to go do animal chores I just wore regular shoes, and when I stepped in muck they sometimes came off, or things would get inside the sides of my shoes. With my Bogs, I can do anything outside and my feet are very comfortable, steady, and DRY!

I had a tough time deciding between size 7 and 8 because my feet are size 7.5. The 7s seemed tight on the top portion of my foot, below my ankle (if that makes sense). The 8s fit about right, but toe area seemed bigger than I needed. I decided to go with the 8s and I am happy that I did.

The handles are great for pulling boots on, but they are a little difficult to remove. Mine don't get stuck (probably partially because I picked the larger size), but I do have to grip the bottom of the shoe firmly to pull the boots off. I would rather not touch the bottoms of these boots. I guess that is just part of the package, though, because I like the way they fit when I am wearing them.

I am VERY happy with these boots, and I highly recommend them to anyone who does agricultural work. These make farm chores much more pleasant.

Bogs Garden Boots Perfect!!
These Bogs keep my feet warm and dry, while looking fun! I prefer to wear my pant legs over the boots instead of tucking them in, so I opted for these mid-rise boots. Since these only come in full sizes and I normally wear a 7.5, I ordered an 8. Plenty of room for heavy socks and easy to get the boots on and off. My boots arrived quickly and in perfect condition.
